Getting Started with MotherBot: Your Complete Onboarding Guide
Everything you need to know to set up MotherBot, connect your WhatsApp Business account, and send your first message — in under 30 minutes.
Welcome to MotherBot
MotherBot is a full-featured WhatsApp CRM platform that lets you manage contacts, run broadcast campaigns, build automated chatbots, and handle live support conversations — all from a single dashboard.
This guide walks you through everything from account creation to sending your first message.
Step 1: Create Your Organization Account
After signing up at motherbot.io, you'll be prompted to name your organization. This name appears on invoices and in your team's dashboard. Choose something your whole team will recognise.
Tip: You can update your organization name at any time under Settings → Organization.
Step 2: Connect Your WhatsApp Business Account
MotherBot connects directly to the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) via Meta.
- Go to Settings → WhatsApp Accounts.
- Click Connect Account.
- Enter your Phone Number ID and Permanent Access Token from the [Meta Developer Console](https://developers.facebook.com).
- Paste your Webhook Verify Token into Meta's webhook configuration, using the URL shown on screen.
- Click Verify & Save.
Once connected, you'll see the account status turn green with a ✓ checkmark.
What you'll need from Meta:
- A verified Meta Business Manager account
- A WhatsApp Business API app with a phone number
- A permanent System User access token with whatsapp_business_messaging permission
Step 3: Import Your Contacts
Navigate to Contacts and click Import CSV. Your CSV file should have at minimum a phone column. Optionally include name, email, and tags.

Step 4: Send Your First Message
- Open a contact from the Contacts page.
- Click the message icon.
- Type your message and hit Send.
That's it — your first WhatsApp message goes out instantly.
Step 5: Invite Your Team
Go to Staff → Add Staff and enter your team member's name and email. They'll receive a login invitation. You can assign granular permissions — for example, give support agents only View Contacts and Send Messages while keeping campaign management restricted to admins.
