About us
It started with a message nobody answered
Not a market gap on a slide. An actual customer, at 11:47pm, asking a question the shop would have loved to answer — who had gone somewhere else by the time anyone saw it.
That gap is worth a fortune, and nearly every business we met was losing to it. MotherBot exists to close it — one shared inbox, an AI that replies in seconds, and a record of every conversation your business has ever had.
Nine hours and twenty-five minutes. That’s the whole problem — and every feature we’ve shipped since is a way of shortening it.
How we got here
Four beats, no origin myth
We didn't set out to build a platform. We set out to stop losing that one order, and kept finding the next thing in the way.
- The problemThe problem
One phone, one person, every enquiry
We kept meeting businesses doing serious volume on WhatsApp from a single handset. The owner answered at midnight. Nobody else could see the thread. When that person took a holiday, revenue took one too.
- The wrong fixesThe wrong fixes
Four tools that didn't talk to each other
A blasting tool for promotions. A helpdesk for support. A CRM that only understood email. A payment link pasted by hand. Each solved a tenth of it, and none of them knew what the others had said to the same customer.
- 20242024
We built the thing that was missing
One platform on Meta's official API where the inbox, the chatbot, the broadcast, the contact record and the payment share the same data. Not a WhatsApp add-on bolted onto a CRM designed for email — something shaped around how messaging actually works.
- NowNow
Fifty-plus capabilities, forty-plus countries
Eleven channels, thirty-four native integrations, native iOS and Android apps, and a public API. Used by single-clinic practices and multi-city retail chains, who turn out to need surprisingly similar things.
What we believe
Six opinions, and what each one costs us
Anyone can publish values. The useful version names the price — because a belief you've never paid for isn't one.
The conversation is the product
For most businesses the sale happens in a back-and-forth with a person who has a question. Software should make that exchange better, not replace it with a form.
What it costs us
We ship fewer dashboards than our competitors and spend the time on the inbox instead.
One tool beats four half-tools
A blaster, a helpdesk, a CRM and a payment link don't add up to a system. They add up to four places your customer's history is incomplete.
What it costs us
Our surface area is enormous for the size of the team. Some corners get polished later than they should.
Play by Meta's rules, entirely
There are cheaper ways to send WhatsApp messages. They all end with somebody's number banned. We're a Meta Business Partner on the official API and we won't ship a shortcut around it.
What it costs us
We lose deals on price to tools that automate the consumer app. We're at peace with that.
Your customer list is yours
We don't sell it, we don't train public models on it, and you can export all of it whenever you like. If leaving is hard, we haven't earned you staying.
What it costs us
No lock-in means we have to be worth renewing every single month.
Built in India, built for everywhere
GST invoicing, UPI, DPDP consent and Razorpay because we're an Indian company. Multi-currency, multi-timezone and multi-language because our customers aren't only Indian.
What it costs us
Two sets of requirements for everything financial and everything about consent.
Support from people who use it
Everyone here does a support rotation. Whoever answers has actually built a chatbot and sent a broadcast — it would be strange for us of all companies to hide behind a bot.
What it costs us
Engineers lose a day a fortnight to the queue. It's the best-spent day we have.
Straight answer
Who this is for — and who it isn't
We'd rather you worked this out here than three weeks into a trial. The right-hand column is real; we turn this business away.
MotherBot is a good fit if…
- Your customers already message you, and some of it gets missed
- More than one person needs to see the same conversation
- You send offers, reminders or updates to a list
- The sale finishes in a chat rather than on a checkout page
- You want the official API and no risk to your number
- You need it working this week, not next quarter
Probably not, if…
- You want to message people who never opted in — we won't help with that
- You need one-to-one chat only: no team, no automation, no list
- You're optimising purely for the cheapest per-message rate
- Your use case is really SMS or email, with WhatsApp as an afterthought
- You need on-premise hosting inside your own datacentre

We need people who care about the unglamorous details
Messaging infrastructure is deeply boring and enormously consequential. A dropped webhook is somebody’s missed order; a mishandled retry is a customer charged twice. If that sounds appealing rather than tedious, we should talk.
