With WhatsApp Business Calling, customers can call you on WhatsApp and your team can call customers — from the same number you message them on. The pricing is simple once you know one word: pulse.

The rules in one minute

  • Calls customers make to you are free. Always, answered or not.
  • Calls your business makes are charged only if the customer answers. A call that rings out costs nothing.
  • Time is counted in 6-second pulses. Every 6 seconds of a call is one pulse.
  • Part of a pulse counts as a whole one. A 50-second call is 8.33 pulses, charged as 9 pulses.
  • In India a pulse costs ₹0.389 (Meta's rate, ₹0.3885).

What a call costs

Call lengthPulses chargedCost (India)
6 seconds1₹0.389
20 seconds4₹1.556
50 seconds9₹3.501
56 seconds10₹3.89
1 minute10₹3.89
1 minute 1 second11₹4.279
5 minutes50₹19.45

To work out any call yourself: divide the seconds by 6, round up to a whole number, and multiply by ₹0.389.

Meta's rate depends on the country you call and can be lower once you place a large number of calls in a month. Your Meta invoice shows exactly what you were charged.

Calling needs WhatsApp Cloud API

WhatsApp calling through MotherBot works only on numbers connected to WhatsApp Cloud API. It does not work on a number that also uses the WhatsApp Business app (coexistence) — Meta does not offer calling there. Calls on those numbers stay in the WhatsApp Business app on your phone. Our coexistence guide explains how to move a number to Cloud API if you want calling.

How MotherBot shows call costs

  • The Calls page shows each call's billed pulses and cost.
  • Your monthly budget counts call pulses the moment a call your business made ends.
  • The call log export has a Billed Pulses column and an estimated Meta cost for each call.
  • The [WhatsApp pricing page](/whatsapp-pricing) has a calculator: enter how many calls you make and how long they last.

Who bills you

Meta does, on your own WhatsApp Business Account's payment method. MotherBot adds nothing on top.
